Dan Mangus

Dan began learning about traditional Chinese Medicine at the age of 12 while practicing martial arts leading to a lifelong passion for acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). After a severe auto accident, acupuncture helped him to recover fully and heal at a much faster rate than was expected.
Following his recovery, Dan enrolled in an acupuncture program at Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine of the New York Chiropractic College where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture in 2019. While in school, Dan completed 3000-plus hours of clinical training during which he gained proficiency in modalities that are instrumental in Traditional Chinese Medicine such as Acupuncture, Zhen Gu Tui Na (Chinese orthopedic massage), gua sha, moxibustion, cupping, and qi gong.
He also furthered his understanding of TCM by studying at the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of TCM in Hangzhou China where he completed 100 hours of clinical training in advanced acupuncture and tui na. There he observed how Eastern and Western medicine can be combined to obtain the highest level of recovery for patients. Dan continues to incorporate this in his practice.
Specialties include treatment of painful conditions both acute and chronic; mental health concerns such as stress or anxiety; digestive issues including IBS and Celiac disease; asthma, immune function disorders, and other autoimmune conditions.
I provide a natural form of medicine to help bring the body back to a healthy, harmonious state in order to allow healing from a variety of different conditions.

My intention is to unlock the full human potential in each of my clients by bringing their physical wellness and metaphysical wellness into harmony.

Jenn Panchalk

Yoga Instructor

Jenn’s experience with alternative modalities began in high school when her father introduced her to self-hypnosis as way to gain confidence. She became curious about nutrition and its role in the human body and wellness during her time in university. At this same time, she was introduced to the concept of Ayurveda. She immediately enrolled in nutrition classes and proceeded to earn a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition followed by a second BS in Dietetics. This led Jenn to begin exploring meditation and yoga.
After experiencing profound changes in all facets of her life, Jenn made the decision to get certified in yoga and help others realize the amazing healing powers of Eastern and alternative practices. She remains ever-curious and open-minded to new modalities of energy and body healing, most recently exploring mindfulness, reiki, reflexology, and other forms of energy/body work.

Maura Oravik

Front Desk

Maura joined Peace, Love & Zen in August of 2019. She enjoys interacting with clients and engaging in conversations where wellness knowledge can be mutually shared. A lifelong resident of the Pittsburgh area, her hobbies include reading; walking; bicycling; attending concerts and car cruises; and spending time with her beagles. Maura is a strong advocate for animal rescue and shelter pet adoption.

Nicole Behanna

Front Desk

Nicole’s passion in wellness began when she took a job at a loose leaf tea shop in 2012. One of her favorite things about it was learning the different herbs and leaves and how they benefit the body. Inspired by this new world of tea and learning the history and benefits of each type, Nicole began to slowly change to a more health conscious diet to match her newfound tea habit. This journey lead to belly dancing and yoga in 2013. Through her continued journey in the healing arts, Nicole found Peace, Love & Zen. Peace, Love & Zen has been instrumental in assisting Nicole with relaxation and mindfulness.
I find an enormous sense of gratification in helping others relax because I know what it is like to be very much in need of self care and to just sit still and be. I hope to help others find that while I'm here.

Tyler Shimko, DACM

Tyler is a practitioner of Classical Chinese Medicine. He began his healthcare career as a nurse and quickly realized he wanted to be part of a more holistic and natural approach to wellness. A major spinal injury gave him the opportunity to experience acupuncture and its ability to help the body heal. In May of 2021, Tyler completed his Master’s and Doctorate degrees in acupuncture and Chinese medicine at Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical arts in Asheville, NC. There, he spent over 4,000 clinical hours refining his classical acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, and herbal medicine skills. With his background in Western medicine Tyler takes an integrative approach to his diagnosis and treatments by considering pharmaceuticals/supplements, bloodwork, lab results, and Classical Chinese medical diagnostic techniques to identify health patterns specific to the individual. Each treatment is custom-tailored to the individual, and through careful diagnosis Tyler treats the root cause of your conditions while also treating the symptoms. He has a specialty for treating pain and orthopedic conditions but also treats a wide variety of problems including GI issues, stress/anxiety/depression, sleep disturbances, headaches, gynecological conditions, allergies, respiratory conditions, and chronic illness.
